Dr S.T. Terence Ting
Dr S T Terence Ting is a Consultant Physician in Respiratory, Sleep and General Medicine at Calvary Hospital, Bruce ACT. He is the Principal Physician and Director of ACT Lung and Sleep, at Suite 14 Calvary Clinic in Bruce ACT – one of the busiest medical specialist clinics in Canberra. He is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) and has admitting rights at most private hospitals in the ACT.
Dr Ting is your local expert in sleep related disorders including sleep apnoea, insomnia, circadian rhythm disorder and parasomnia. At ACT Lung and Sleep, we provide prompt and affordable diagnostic services for patients presented with sleep apnoea symptoms (e.g. snoring, unrefreshing sleep and daytime fatigue).
Dr Ting is also a specialist in a wide range of lung diseases such as chronic airway disease (e.g. COPD, asthma), bronchiectasis, lung fibrosis, pulmonary embolism and pleural diseases. He is an active member of the Canberra Region Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, providing expert and holistic care in the diagnosis and management of lung cancer and mesothelioma. He is a proceduralist and performs flexible bronchoscopic procedures and ultrasound guided pleural aspiration/intercostal catheter insertion at Calvary Bruce Private Hospital.
Dr Ting is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and has special interests in education for medical specialists in training (physician trainees). He is an accredited Educational Supervisor and Examiner for the RACP.
In his spare time, Terry loves spending time with his wife Jiyeon and their children. He is a passionate martial artist and is currently a second Kyu (2nd grade, brown belt) in a full-contact Japanese martial art – Kyokushin Karate (International Karate Organisation Kyokushin Kaikan), and has competed in local and interstate tournaments. Terry also trained in Judo and Chinese Kung Fu (Shaolin and Wing Chun). He also holds a performance diploma in piano (Royal Academy of Music in London, England), performed in local concerts in the UK and participated in regional competitions. Terry also loves travelling with his family.
